This project started as a Master’s thesis for MACoDE (Master of Contemporary Dance Education) in hfmdk.
I was thinking how contemporary dance is moving away from conventional stage, into spaces where there’s no longer clear (spatial) distincition between the performer and the audience.
More I saw site specific work more I though that it should be trained. I was mainly thinking abour group awareness training, how can a dancer stay connected to the people she’s working with eventhough there’s a lot of other information.
Another thought was to see what kind of knowledge arises when we are situated in a place where there’s a lot of extra information, not only the students and the teacher.
Most of these scores were tested and worked with 2nd yeaer BA students of hfmdk. Some scores I have added eventhough we didn’t have time to try them out. Hopefully in the future.
